Traditional friction grip handpieces suffer torque loss which is caused by the bur turning more slowly than the turbine under increased cutting loads. Although difficult to perceive, the difference in rotation speed reduces cutting power. The ProDrive 100% Torque Transfer feature ensures the full cutting power of the handpiece is transferred to the bur for maximum cutting efficiency during all operating conditions.

Torque loss and the associated friction contribute to the decline of handpiece performance and prematurely weaken turbines. The ensuing metal stress degrades turbine concentricity, affects the accuracy of fine procedures and results in more frequent repair. The 100% Torque Transfer feature ensures that the bur and turbine always turn concentrically and in sync, which eliminates unwanted friction and heat.
