Who is ProDrive Systems?
ProDrive Systems was founded by Dr. Derek Turner, a prominent Ontario based dentist with 30 years practice experience. He founded the company with the objective of solving the dental industry problem of poor handpiece cutting power and reliability.

What is the ProDrive System?
The ProDrive System is a high performance turbine and bur designed to retrofit into existing handpieces to improve cutting power, reliability and durability against repeated sterilization, enhancing the efficiency of dentists. The ProDrive System has two components: The Upgrade Turbine and the Bur.

How does the ProDrive System improve the cutting power of my handpiece?
Traditional friction grip handpieces suffer torque loss which is caused by the bur turning more slowly than the turbine under increased cutting loads. Although difficult to perceive, the difference in rotation speed reduces cutting power. The ProDrive 100% Torque Transfer ensures the full cutting power of the handpiece is transferred to the bur for maximum cutting efficiency during all operating conditions.

How does the ProDrive System improve the durability of my handpiece?
Torque loss and the associated friction contribute to the decline of handpiece performance and prematurely weaken turbines. The ensuing metal stress degrades turbine concentricity, affects the accuracy of fine procedures and results in more frequent repair. The 100% Torque Transfer feature ensures that the bur and turbine always turn concentrically and in sync, which eliminates unwanted friction.
In order to counter the ill effect of repeated sterilization, the ProDrive Turbine features superior design and premium components.

Does the ProDrive Upgrade change how I currently use my Handpiece in my practice?
No. You may continue to use your handpiece as you did prior to the upgrade. You will notice superior cutting performance.

Does the ProDrive Upgrade change how I maintain, clean and sterilize my handpiece?
No. Please follow the instructions in the owners’ manual of your original handpiece related to handpiece care, cleaning and sterilization. These procedures do not change.

Are ProDrive products certified by Health Canada and the Food and Drug Administration?
ProDrive Products are certified by Health Canada and FDA.

What handpieces does ProDrive have Upgrade Turbines available for?
ProDrive Upgrade Turbines are available for:
- KAVO – MultiFlex Models
- Star – 430, 431
- MK-dent

May I use NON-ProDrive Burs in my ProDrive Upgraded Handpiece?
No. Only ProDrive Burs may be used in ProDrive Upgraded Handpieces.

How will I know which one of my handpieces has been upgraded to ProDrive?
Because traditional friction-grip burs will not fit into the ProDrive Replacement Turbine, and any attempt to forcibly insert friction-grip burs may damage the Turbine, we recommend that you identify which of your handpieces have received a ProDrive upgrade. An upgraded ProDrive handpiece will be marked with a special colored band or tape to help you quickly distinguish it from your other handpieces. We recommend that you visually inspect the handpiece after each sterilization to ensure that the band is still in place.

What if I have questions or my handpiece requires service during the trial?

If you purchased through a reseller, please contact the reseller.
IMPORTANT: Please do NOT attempt to replace bearings yourself, or hire a non-certified service provider to repair the ProDrive Upgrade Turbine – this may damage the Turbine or your handpiece, or render it unsafe for use.

Is there a warranty on the ProDrive Upgrade Turbine?
Yes. ProDrive upgrades include a one-year warranty on the upgrade turbine and a 6 month warranty on the bearings.

What if I want to remove the ProDrive Upgrade to switch back to my old non-ProDrive turbine?
Please contact us within 10 days of receiving your ProDrive Upgrade if you wish to switch back to your old system – we will do this for free and you may keep the ProDrive Starter Bur Kit and return any unopened packages of Burs. Customers are responsible for inbound shipping.
NOTE: If for whatever reason your old handpiece turbine is unusable after the upgrade due to wear, we cannot be held responsible. If you wish to replace a non-drive turbine in your handpiece and your old one is unusable, we will offer you non-drive alternatives, at a 10% discount.
